Definitley get some straps - army surplus stores doe webbing yokes which take the weight onto the shoulders so the mass of the tank wont be a problem. You'll also need to make sure the b*gger doesn't shift, so I stitched some extra industrial velcro (which I happened to have lying around ;) ) to the bottle pouch.

If it stays as still as possible, you won't even notice a 20 oz on your back and it won't affect your speed.

Remotes don't lend themselves to sliding though - if that's the way you play, then you'll have to modify your technique or you might hurt your back.

oooh Careful!!

Jedi, tried the old upright knee slide into a wooden barricade/bunker whilst firing. The results? Well after about 2/3 days the swelling had gone down and I could bend them a bit.. Make sure you know your surface, hidden rocks aren't nice.

Mind you I wasn't hit, I don't think I've ever gone so tight, so fast. Just became a bit immobile after that :)

I always thought that using a remote would allow a faster response from the player to anything appearing in your field of vision. If you play with a shouldered 20Oz or Air rig then you either spin your whole body (or torso) to face the new threat, or angle the gun round. With a remote this should be really easy. But then I may be making a few wrong assumptions.

Never used a remote, but would be interested to see what it does to the balance of the marker.

Always good to see a constructive answer, well thought out and providing informed advice to the reader :p :p

Personally I like using a remote...it takes away someof the stability of the marker becuase you have less weight but I think I can play tighter if the bottle is round the back. It means you can tuck your elbow where the bottle would be if you were using a drop forward

I agree with the rec ball comments though...you're probably alright on a sup air field but you wouldn;t want to have a remote crawling through the bushes.
