So when did ppl first play ball?
i first played about 10 years ago it was a works do and we all went without a clue what it'll be like as no-one had been before.
It was splatmaster heaven! and we had a great time, although i remember being shot in the back twice in the same place!(dodgy team mates, honest!) i cant remember the prices but it seemed to cost an arm and a leg.the face masks were like a *******ized welding mask and were huge(i did play again fairly soon after and we had these green plastic masks which made us all look like jason vorhees(?) and had wood work goggles over the top...hmmmm sweatty)
after i got home i remember reading about paintball in an air gun magazine and seeing an article about semi automatics(called a nelson? i think, correct me if wrong) and i just wanted one! then my wallet reminded me how much i'd spent and thought it'll be bad for me to get one.

well it planted a seed, and now i'm here playing and having fun!.

im 21 now
i played at a site up in norfolk (rec) about 7-8 years ago. i sucked bad i guess but i liked it and convinced my family to get me a pump action as a birthday pressie.
i got said pump action (still have it today) but could never afford to play again:(
but like tb ,it set the seed. been playing for about 6 or so months now and I love it.

I wish when i was young i had money though.

Don't worry. Since then a lot of people have joined the boards, and many may not have seen that previous thread. So don't sweat it.

As for myself, I started back when you first had to chase the dinosaurs off the field (i.e. a long time ago). It was a day with a group of friends. I got hooked after my first game, because the first shot that I fired was a hit. The ball hit the guy on the upper edge of his goggles, leaving a red (yes, they made red paint back then) trail running through his hair along the top of his head, while the bottom half of the ball ended up splattered across his lense. It was way cool.
Fields back then were so damn big, and since we weren't familiar with the terrain, we could spend what seemed like hours wandering through the woods.
The guy that ran (and still runs) that field also ran (and still runs) a shop, so after seeing how enthusiastic we got, he invited us to come visit his store some time.
Two weeks later we were all out playing again, this time all with spanking new equipment of our own. Since then, the addiction has only grown.
