If you buy a bottle with reg, they will loctite it on, because they don't know if you are retarded or not. Also, guidelines state that a sealing material should be used...now...that means an o-ring, but can be read as loctite.
So two reasons why.
But, ideally you do not want the reg loctited on...it will not fall off.
Just use a suitable sized o-ring on the reg and screw up to that..once it has been on a while, it will be difficult to remove but less difficult than loctite.
Don't forget, that if you intend to use aircraft etc with that tank, you have to remove the regs so they can check inside, for drugs, explosives, illegal aliens and small animals.
My Stako, was leaking from around the join with the bottle and reg...I had to give it some welly to get it off, but I hadn't loctited it on.
Put a fatter o-ring on and all was good 1800psi in water and no leaks
