If you buy a bottle with reg, they will loctite it on, because they don't know if you are retarded or not. Also, guidelines state that a sealing material should be used...now...that means an o-ring, but can be read as loctite.

So two reasons why.

But, ideally you do not want the reg loctited on...it will not fall off.
Just use a suitable sized o-ring on the reg and screw up to that..once it has been on a while, it will be difficult to remove but less difficult than loctite.

Don't forget, that if you intend to use aircraft etc with that tank, you have to remove the regs so they can check inside, for drugs, explosives, illegal aliens and small animals.

My Stako, was leaking from around the join with the bottle and reg...I had to give it some welly to get it off, but I hadn't loctited it on.
Put a fatter o-ring on and all was good 1800psi in water and no leaks

ok guys at the weekend in paris i brought a new bottle from draxxus

we have tried everything to get this reg off and it still wont budge

my fella has had it in a vice but nothing

we suspect it has got locktite on the threads

what can you do to get the reg off wanting to change to a mini maxflo system

if anyone can suggest things it would be appreciated

real hot water on the reg, try and loosen the loctite.

lots of leverage helps too.

best thing to do is get the bottle held in a leather belt. now here comes the scary bit. give the fill nipple a really big hit with a hammer to loosen it. make sure you do it in the direction it needs to go unscrew.

worse it will do is break the fill nipple they are only a fiver to replace. done it to a few regs and not had any bother yet

I have NEVER Loctited a reg in and was always told NOT to. Never had a problem
Seems like different people have different ways.
Best way to get a reg out is wrap the tank in a piece of rubber and put in a vice tight enough to hold it and grab the reg with some grips. If the grips have teeth on them, then put a bit of rubber round the reg and twist. Easy!!!!

cheers mate managed to get it off ......................... but i had to give my m8 Thor the god of war a bell so i could borrow his lightening hammer to get it to budge
