If you're lucky then you'll find a sports-hall that will let you.. Maybe its because we are a Uni Society rather than a private group, but apart from the two or three months of negotiating with them (mainly trying to reverse prejudices about guns etc), we can use the gym whenever we want for reballing...
True, its a perfect location, completely sealed, high windows, viewing gallery etc, so maybe that was a factor, but it really wasnt a problem for us, insurance comes automatically with the facility. Im sure someone who actually RUNS a centre like this may say differently, but why should insurance be an issue? Sports like archery, roller-hockey are just as or more dangerous to the untrained user than reballing and these are allowed to use gyms.
So is it maybe just because it hasnt been done before really that makes people wary? Because there is no precursor, no guidelines, no specific insurance or riskassesment etc?
