How does the Re-Load compare to an X-Board btw?
Significantly better in my opinion. It works like a wireless intellifeed and makes it spin with every shot, so the balls are being agitated ready and not just when the feed neck starts to empty which could be too late...

I've tested it and all the agitating loaders, and get better results with the reload. Anyone I lend one to ends up buying one :) if they stick to an agitator... when I lend out Halo's people tend to like them also.

Will be happy to lend you either to try out next time I see you (or anyone else who wants a try just ask me).

Hey Richard you have to do what we say... since 'Simon Says' and since two of us have said it ;)

Normally the 9v motor will handle the 12v board. I've even stole servo's from my RC glider and used them successfully.

The reload sometimes didn't activate everytime for my Intimidator, but overall it worked okay. For a 'Cocker it should work perfectly.

One caveat: If you're sitting around for a long time the board will Auto-Power Down, so before EVERY game you need to verify that the board is working (ie the paddle turns), we believe we lost a game in our last tournament because the front man, who had some great shots, was dry firing 'cause he thought his hopper was on...off the break.

I noticed that if you tap the body of the Rev, the hopper won't always activate, but if you tap the lid, it will...go figure...

Ok guys, the goal posts just shifted

Looks like I have a great deal more Christmas money to spend than I had originally thought...

So, should I really get a HALO? Will I be shooting a blade cocker fast enough to justify it? (Even if Simpon says...)

What kit-bag would anyone reccomend? I liked the planet bags, but they are discontinued (waiting for redesign...) THe JT ones are pretty pricey, but the 32 Degrees one doesn't have all the protective compartments and things...

If you really outrun your gun (you get skipped shots or start chopping balls) then try the Eggolution (make sure it's the newest version). A few old teammates have switched from the Halo-B to the Evolution hopper 'cause it's lighter and still keeps up...and they have much faster trigger fingers than I do. Also the Halo-B is a bit wider. They like to modify the door to make it easier to use but they seem to like the Eggolutions.

I tend to play front alot and as long as I make sure I have super fresh batteries (voltage reading above 9v) my Rev. works great for me (if the voltage drops to 8v I get serious skips with my GZ), but after burning out 3 revs in one year, I've optimised my current one a wee bit...I don't know if the aftermarket bearings to replace the bushings work, or the weedwhacker paddles, or if I just got lucky in my final motor & board matchup but it works great for me...I found that if I get a jam (using my old stock paddles) and I don't realise it right away, I have to check out the paddle speed and if it's slower, I need to replace the motor (&/or the board) 'cause it only goes downhill from there. Good luck in your hopper selection.

Rich,

just noticed Smart Parts are now selling Egg2's.. It's a cheaper option for you.. but I still reccomend a Halo.

Also, if you fancy a guest spot with another team on 19th Jan, I'm sure we can squeze you in a car if you want a lift down, you can have a go of my Halo and see what you think.

Kit Bags

Well, the Redz bags are always nice, if a bit narrow and they usually come with a small stool. The Mantis stuff is okay if you like the pod loops on the outside...saves a bit of space if you're not flying. The Dye bags are pretty trick...they come in many flavors and the bigger one will unzip into halfs with the top half becoming a backpack and the lower half with the rollers staying back in your room...the next size down has rollers and shoulder straps. Me, I'm a fan of "bigger is better" in kit bags and I like the Extreme Rage bag, the huge one with the two main halfs, the upper half is collapsable....you can put a body in there easily...we've tried :D

Whatever you get, if it has rollers, get one that has an extendable, hard handle...do you know how irritating it is to have your bag knocking against your calf in the airport 'cause you only have the soft handle to grab onto?

Good luck.

PS My opinion on the Halo-B comes from a frontman's viewpoint:cool:
