Re-Load Kit, a question

Hi,

I bought one of the Empire Re-Load kits recently (as part of my Christmas moneys :D) and took it to the "Winter Warmer" (now there was a misnamed tournament if ever there was one, it was absolutely freezing, but that aside), all was going well till I reached my primary in the first game. I had a look inside to see how my paint was doing, and discovered that the impelar (the thing that stirs the balls) had come off.

I had screwed it in using the screw that had been on the revvy immpellar/motor. Any suggestions/recomendations as to how I should have attached it and how I should attach it in the future? The supplier (Fat Bob's Paintball) have offered to suply a replacement screw if that is the answer, but they suggested that I ask here for advice. If a new screw is the answer what did I do wrong? How can I avoid the same problem in the future (shaking my hopper playing back center got real old real fast...).

TIA

Richard

He He I remeber the look on your face in the safe area :D

Bet bet would be to screw it in and maybe glue it , so that it wont come loose but not so the paddle carn't move ;)

Just a thought

possible that the screw thread has stripped? if so then your gonna have to glue the screw in i think..

eather that or the hole in the impeller is bigger than the screw head? if so put a small washer on the screw

Grrrr

Yeah I was not an 'appy bunny, but I guess I should know the "No new kit at a tourney" rule by now

I know there are some guys out there who actually use these kits; Manike, you there? If the answer is glue, then which one? Is it screw and glue? I spent £35 on this so I'd really prefer not to gum it all up with the wrong glue etc.

Anyways, will check-back and bump this thread later, I must go and get some sleep now!

if it has stripped the thread its gonna be the thread in the plastic bit (top of the servo) that will have gone...super glue should stick it but dont take my word for it as i havnt seen one of these reload thingys up close yet

Also - make sure you install the propeller going the correct way round too.

As for the screw, if the threads aren't stipped a bit of blue loctite should do it.

and jahlad - hey mate, long time no see :D

Having used one of those in the past, I can tell you that loctite should always be used on that kit.
If you don't, the spinny thing (official tech word that) will slowly come loose over the course of time, and it will start to creep up. When that happens you are in a world of pooh. Balls will get jammed underneath it, and clog up the system, but that's if you're lucky. If you're unlucky, it will slice the ball in half.
Drop of loctite, make sure the spinny thing is as far down as it can be without jamming the motor, and job's a good 'un.
