The well publicized "Ego9 Rammer Bumper o-ring shredding issues" are at an end thanks to the introduction of the new Ego9/SL94 Solenoid Barb, an optimized flow solenoid barb for the Ego9/SL94 Solenoid Assembly that optimizes air flow through the solenoid, and consequently prolongs the life of the rammer bumper o-ring whilst increasing the consistency and reliability of the marker.
The new barb is available to ALL Ego9 owners, and even if you are not experiencing any rammer bumper o-ring damage, we would encourage you to obtain one as soon as possible to further enhance the performance of your Ego9 marker.
All SL94’s already come with the new barb pre-installed.
All customers MUST have already registered their Ego9 prior to requesting the new barb and hose! If you have not already registered your marker then please do so here: http://www.planeteclipse.com/site/eWarranty.asp
The barbs are in stock now in both our Rhode Island and Manchester Service Centers so as such customers should use the following methods to obtain their new barb and hose from Tuesday 5th May onwards:
US:

When contacting either Gerry or myself, please specify the following information so that we can check your warranty registration and send you the parts you require asap:
- Your FULL name
- Your FULL postal address
- The Serial number of your Ego9
- The colour of your Ego9
Having installed the new barb onto your Ego9, we recommend that you follow the guidelines in the “Ego9 – Ultimate Dwell Setting Thread” (http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=3051249) to minimize rammer bumper wear even further.
Here is our recommended guide on how to install the new Barb (and hose) when you receive them:
Step 1:
1. Cut the low pressure hose on the Ego9 and remove the Torpedo from the marker body and unscrew the solenoid assembly from the marker body:

2. Using a small flat headed screw-driver remove the barb retaining clip from the manifold:
Step 3:
3. Remove the old barb and hosing making sure that the filter is still inside the manifold body:

4. Making sure that you have a new barb:

5. Take the new barb and hose and push it into the manifold:
Step 6:
6. Pressing the barb firmly into the manifold, place the clip in the designated slot and use a pair of pliers to secure the clip in place:
Step 7:
7. Using Eclipse Grease, lightly lubricate the outside of the end of the hose that is not attached to the barb and push it through the body so that it protrudes from the torpedo hole:
Step 8:
8. Join the torpedo and the hose so that ONLY half of the barbed portion of the torpedo is covered by the hose (as shown below):
