they said and i quote "nexus have a choice of 2 barrells one small bore and one large bore, this is all you need for a closed bolt type marker" "if you have an open bolt type marker it is best to size your paint for an exact match so the ball does not roll away from the bolt face"

hope this helps

Havent you got that the wrong way round??

With an open bolt gun the detent stops the ball rolling away from the bolt face, so sizing the paint to the barrel is less important.

With a closed bolt, the balls are loaded past the detent so a tight barrel is critical to stop the paint rolling away from the bolt face.

Just to let you all know. I dont remember which one is the closed bolt and which one is the open one. But the ego holds the ball so you only need one barrel. The cocker doesnt hold the ball soo you need a barrel which will stop it rolling out.

The great dilema is that if you are using 2 piece barrels (with different bore sizes) you will find that you end up with a pretty long barrel.

I'm a little front guy as a few of you will know, and i find it really hard moving around with a long barrel. So i am looking for a tiny barrel that has superb accuracy. Impossible??

This weekend i was trying out all sorts of barrels from all sorts of people (cheers lads). And what i found (first hand) was that it's only ball size that makes the difference (so it's not the size that counts :) ). eg. i used a bottom end of the empire kit (only) that matched my ball size and it was more accurate then the barrel i own at the minute. I then put an end piece on it and it didnt really make much difference in accuracy at all.

The problem with only using the bottom end is (for me – and even though it didnt happen) the fear of a ball hitting the threads and making a big mess.

I was told about a freak kit which has a 2" end piece (which should make the length around 8"). So i will be looking around for one of these now in hope that it will remain accurate.
