I'm a front player who currently has the 12" standard barrel that came with my wgp cocker. For movability it's fine and doesn't get in my way. The problem with this is that it shoots with the accuracy of a site-inferno, which I have found is no good in tournament paintball.

I have borrowed barrels from friends, but they tend to be extremelly long barrels that really increase the accuracy of the marker but unfortunately make it really hard for me to move around freely in my bunker.

Being very much unskilled in the art of diving (and paintball as a whole), and with a long barrel, I find myself fearing for the it's safety when I come into my bunkers. I have been known to launch my barrel into the ground and have to clear out 2 Inches of mud and grass. (luckilly not breaking the barrel or damaging it in any way)

I have heard that the paint I use can have a major effect on the accuracy of the marker, but unfortunately I dont have a set paint that I use.

Are there any barrels/ barrel sets that anyone knows of, that are both accurate and short (in length – like between the 13-15" area)?????

Ive always rated the Empire 4 pc kits as a spot on all rounder but they only come with a 15" front

the 9 pc comes with an 11" front - if your shooting a cocker the threads are quiet far back so the empire 4pc might be ok for you.

Dye do real short fronts and so do SP for the Freak/AA but i dont advise going down that route

Cool, so for now i should have a look for an empire 4 piece kit.

What actually makes an accurate barrel. Is it the way that they are made or is it simply down to length and ball size??

Going off subject slightly.....It's funny to find a juggalo on the forum. I play for team Yakamazi and the majority of the team have hatchet-man tatoos, get off on dressing up as clowns at any fancy dress party and have archives of ICP and Twisted cd's and dvd's.

I remember going to a big game at some point seing a guy with a hatchet man jersey and a Staff with a skull on the end... would that be you by any chance or are there many juggalo's about?

Your gonna kick off a massive debate asking what makes a good barrell, but heres my 2ps worth - length has little to do with it - a good ball/bore match is a biggy along with good porting and internal honing also 1 pc barrels tend to work better than 2pc Although almost every manufacturer make 2 pc barrells and i only know 1 kit thats 1 pc and that the lucky 15... nice kit in all honesty

In all honesty i dont know too many Juggalo's in paintball apart from "Jokersmoker". Crazy ass mofo i play with on Storm North

I Was marshalling Big Game but no Hachetman Jersey im afraid - where was i for all that!!!

I gotta "Great Milenko" Jokers card on my back myself - couldn't mix a hatchet man tattoo with my back piece..

Back on topic - try fat bobs they do the Empire kits relatvely cheap - say Ian Sent u:D

Well cheers for the help anyway mate.

I'll pop on fat bobs to have a look and compare prices and stuff.. i was just looking on just paintball and found the empire 4 piece for £75 which i thought was pretty cheap for a barrel kit. all others seem to be up in the hundreds

Might see you about sometime anyway

Different pple like different barrels. I have used the freak kit quite a bit and find it great, on my shocker i use a 10inch freak front so its nice and short and still spot on accurate.
