I've also got 4 spare Tamiya TT-01 cars I could sell too, depending on spec. you would be looking at £65 - 130 complete ready to run. These are very good cars and you can get tons of upgrades for them - My son and I both have identical fully upgraded TT-01's other than the fact that his has a 13t motor and mine is brushless.
To be honest if your wanting to have a bit of fun, off road is the way to go - much more fun and less damage (believe it or not). And you can do it anywhere.
Onroad however, the cars tend to hit harder objects (concrete/ walls) at much higher speeds - meaning you can potentially destroy it in one crash. Not to mention that they get stuck on grass and small bumps.
As for speed, my buggies ( for sale ) will do 60 + no problem, with the set up that they have, and handling is extremely good, as all the suspension setting are spot on and the diffs are set as Limited slip, Torsen, and 8 Spider, which means maximum traction.
My TT-01 will do the same speeds, but is quicker off the line with the brushless motor. My other TT-01's (for sale) have excellent handling, but are not quite as fast - although, next to a stock one, they are very quick.
I have boxes of brand new spares that I can build complete cars with, so if you want one let me know, otherwise, I have been racing for 20yrs, and have used almost everything out there. So give me a PM if you need any more info!
Just a correction on a previous comment, the Nitro engines do run up to and over 37,000 RPM depending on which it is.
Cheers,
Tim
