Simply put, its where the electronics in the gun add a certain amount of shots/second on top of the shots youre already doing.
Like a ROF booster
Edit: thats one kind anyway, theres the Velocity ramping aswell which is less common (or less talked about anyway)

It's actually, a way around cheater boards...thye have brought out a rule (PSP), that allows ramping to 15 BPS...that way...anyone shooting more than that, will be very obvious, and so, can be pulled.

i have to say i agree with it being a method of cheating and unfair aswell,

first of all maybe you run up on someone you will only put 2 or 3 shots on them with the ramp it would be 10 so thats a bit harsh,

also the person is cheating because its not one pull of the trigger one bullet realsesd if you see what i mean

Problem is...Pro's (some of them) had access to cheat modes, that would ramp to as fast as the hopper can feed...think about that for a moment...but, because they had secret codes, teh marshals couldnt replicate it...so, they could not be accused of cheating, and had to assume that they were just bionicly fingered..so to speak...
So...if everyone, can ramp to 15 legally..which is just above, what most people can walk anyway...anyone shooting more than that, would be obvious, due to teh nose..and the new robot, that checks ramp modes...and therefore...can be pulled for being sneaky feckers...

in response to the mugging comment from mr mike there, shouldnt the ramp mode make you pull 5bps before it even kicks in?

So if you only wanted to put 2 rounds in his pack, then you can.
