I gotta be honest, and say that I have only fired the "old" model briefly, as mine was a "very old" model, I now have the latest style (the version 2 board)Originally posted by Inferno
do you feel there is a big difference between the two?
Basically, the first run had a plate style trigger, which was deemed ugly, so it was changed to the rod style trigger.
Both of these used a board with a dome switch.
The "new" board (V.2), has a leaf switch behind the trigger, which helps to eliminate bounce. It also doesn't have the "problem" (although it isn't actually a problem, I just can't think of a better word right now) of the battery slowly draining over time. And that was only a problem if you forgot to charge your grip a couple of days before a tourney
The change of feel between my old grip and the new one is phenominal, I thought it was good before! First time I shot the new board I thought my hopper had jammed, as no paint was being fired. Nope, I'd run my hopper dry.
What I would try to do if I was you is fire both, so you can see which one suits you. Not easy I know, as they are reasonably rare, but have an ask on the racegun forums, the guys who carry racegrips out in the states are some of the most helpful people I've ever seen.
I'd love to find out more about the E-Blade, cos I'm curious like that - does it use an electronic 3/4/5-way, what modes, etc. but I'm sure there will be more info forthcoming soon.
