just out of curiousity what one is better the proto matrix or the dye matrix and why, any thing technically different in the two, how do they shoot and whats peoples prefered choices, surely there must be some catch to have the same company produce two markers.

any info would be greatly appreciated

I have a dm6 and another guy on our team has a pm6 with ultralite frame fitted and to be honest for the money you save for almost matching performance i would go for the pm6 with ultralite.

But then again i prefer the look of the dm6:cool:

not really, the only real difference i've been able to find is the milling. I've had my PM5 just over a month and it absolutely rips even entirely stock. (feel the need for an ultralite frame for it thou:D )

Ive mentioned on here before but its all a cost thing.

I was going to get a dm5 but having spoken to a number of people and shot both it came down to a very simple fact. The difference in performance between a proto 05 and a dm5 is negligible with a slightly different logic code and 30psi operating pressure lower for the dm.

The money saved by the proto means you get the same performance and get to play more. The pm6 is just a pm5 with an asa on/off and a clamping feedneck. The rest is simply cosmetic.

If you are looking at a dm6 then its a whole other decision. The dm6 is simply the best marker ever and is miles ahead of anything else. Its worth every penny and will rock your world.

As far as build quality goes, be sure that whatever leaves dye precision, whether it be proto or dye, it will be of the highest quality and will have the best customer services in the paintball world.

no i mean the fact that dye guns are millied from one peice of metal whereas proto are welded together in 2 peices. you can see the seams on them. not a problem, its just a cheaper way to make the marker isnt it.

Jack, if you're coming over to play the Masters, with any of the rest of the team, you're more than welcome to have a play on my UL Proto & I'm 99% sure Craig'll let you have a whoop with his DM6 mate. Try both & then make your own mind up.
