a few years ago i found a case of paint that had been stuffed under my bed for around 8 months, it was kept at a normal room temp for this time and ever single ball shot perfectly!

if you are storing in pots i would not advise leaving the lid shut for a couple of reasons, first the pressure on a packed pot will cause flat spots on the paint and also any mosture trapped in the pot cannot escape.

in short, keep it in the box if you can and normal room temp is fine.......if storing for a long time turn the box over (ie stand it on the lid) every few days to stop it flat spotting.

leaveing paint in the car over night before using it is a VERY bad idea.......you may as well not bother as you will be cleaning your barrel every other shot

Similarly - leaving a box of paint on the ground with the top open is a recipe for disaster. - off the floor and keep it covered.

For few tips about paint

Store paint in bags not too full sealed up if you can get hold of some of those satchets of those moisture crystals put one in the bag of paint.

Keep at room temperature rotate every few days to stop flat spots.

Different brands of paint will react more to temperature changes than others paint will swell slightly as it gets warmer and is worth rechecking over the chrono cos this swelling can cause you to go over the velocity limit.
A good example is a team i was playing for were using victory paint early in the year and was breaking every few balls temperature rose only a couple of degrees due to the sun coming out and and the paint shot like a dream. But try and go for a winter formula ball for cold conditions ie zap chronic , tomahawk winter formula or RPS artic i think its called all good for cold conditions.

Use a big bored barrel in winter you may be surprised at how going to a bigger bored barrel can make a difference may be abit of a drop in velocity but id rather get the ball out of me barrel than spend more time cleaning it and not being in the game.

One extreme measure you could take that a clever guy on a team i used to play for got a old fridge and did some work on it so it warmed up instead of chilled down hooked it up to a genny and basically then all you had to do was store paint in the fridge and rotate pots not used between games to warm up we were able to shoot a brittle ball more commonly used in summer in the middle of winter
