Tha sooner everyone just deals with that, accepts that people watching whole matches - on TV or in tha flesh - is not gonna work, and moves on, tha sooner we'll all get wherever it is we're going.

nonsense, it'll be great.

If this is for real then the wind is blowing this discussion a different way:

Posted on Smacktalk:

The X-Ball TV deal is done. ESPN has commited to cover NXL X-Ball at World Cup using (now get this.....) 25-30 camera's. Divisional X-Ball highlights will be included in the one hour segments that will be begin airing on ESPN and ESPN2 on December 9th at 5pm Eastern Time.

The NPPL and it's self-hype machine better find a new avenue cause 7 man won't get it done with ESPN. Three TV producers we spoke with said there was no way they would consider airing a 7 man format due to the lack of game time. To quote one source: "When we aired paintball over 8 years ago there was no focus, this (X-Ball) format has changed the game completely. Now we have something we can work with".

So if you decide to keep playing 7 man never fear, you'll be able to watch us from home....... biatch!

Concerning the point about watching X Ball live, I think post editing is usually going to be more interesting but the Russian Legion vs Philly's Finest exhibition game at Campaign Cup was definitely worth paying for. I will definitely buy any DVD that comes out with that on it. I'm sure many others who were there feel the same way.

25-30 camera's huh?
One for each player, one on each corner and 16 spare?
or will they have 30 extra guys running around on the firld with camera's?

Those smack-talk tossers really are the bottom-feeders of the Forum world aren't they. I mean everyone is entitled to get things wrong or post something that turns out to be bollox, but those guys sacifice all credibility when they post the garbage and personal abuse that you see there.

Call me old-fashioned, but I don't even like the way that the UK posters on here have started talking like west-coast surfer-dudes, I mean whats the point?

Anyway, speculation is pretty moot, as we will see what happens in 2 months. The truth shall set you free....

And Steve, it would HAVE to be edited. Thats a given.

Indeed, all this 'duder' stuff gets a bit much considering half the people from miners estates and the like ;)

The information (what brief bit there actually is) on this is posted over on www.forceofnature.com

Would you believe FON?

It will be a while but some day there will be a demand for live games and I do base that subjectively on my own experiences. I have seen some really entertaining X Ball games that seemed to have been entertaining for first-time spectators as well. Examples: Team Sweden v Team USA at Joy Masters last summer, the final Division X Ball and NXL games at the last World Cup, Russian Legion's games in Pennsylvania and the recent Russian Legion v Philly's Finest games.

I have seen some incredibly exciting 7-man games also; exciting for most of the three minutes.

No point.....

Anyway... first things first.... let's see how the ESPN audience react to X-ball, before we go bananas.

If they get a favourable response from their target audience, the EXL may suddenly be alive again...

Ah, tha voice of reason - but that 'IF' should be tha size of a skyscraper duder and underlined in red pen...forget EXL, EVERYTHING X hangs on those shows drawing a big enough audience, everything.
