My god, if i'd have known my ion was just an illusion all this time i wouldnt have been playing with it! cheers for the info steve, i must have really been letting the team down...
both are good guns, its just that the promaster rips out the box, the ion i had to put a fair few upgrades on it to make it decent (such as trigger, feed neck and barrel)
To be pedantic, I don't think any upgrades are necessary to make the Ion rip - ie; shoot fast. The upgrades required are to get rid of that bloody duckbill, and then convenience things like the feedneck, but that's nothing to do with ROF. There's nothing wrong with it's performance out of the box, except the stock barrel (like most) is a bit tight.

I personally feel that the stock ion trigger is nasty compared to others, it just feels cheap, it wobbles 2 much and isnt nice in the hand. I find hard to get a stream going compared to anafter market trigger such as a CP blade
Where as the promaster trigger out of the box has a nice trigger already installed, that is nice and easy to rip with
