oh...got me then, i had to put in a slightly larger Oring but i use an ultralite with my ion

look at the old crown barrels for the automags, they made a kool ting noise whrn u fired it, so could just be a barrel thing.

If it tings without air, you probably have the solenoid bar in upside down. The small black plastic buffer should be uppermost.

Opstrat, whatever you say, most Ions do not though I have heard plenty that do. It's not normal operating procedure. I can't speak about the SP8, I've never used or teched one

The SP8's have a muzzle-break don't they? If so then the "ping" noise is probably caused by the same reason as the old Automag crown-point barrels, vibration of the muzzle end as you suggest.

EDIT - ignore me, I thought we were talking about SP8's for some drug-addled reason
