take detents out

look at them side on
twist the finger part from side to side and look at the base for any small splits. if so replace.

generally if in doubt or used them for a while replace anyway, especially on an 05 ego.

re: battery always use a fresh one to avoid any doubt.
once its reading half way on teh battery indicator its pretty shafted...

RE: Battery

Maybe it is just mine but on my ego6 I had it at 1/4 battery allday and it still shoot great till the end of training yesterday, will probably change it for next time but could probably get away with it for another relatively short session.

yeah a decent 2 peice seems to run a lot smoother on the whole though ill say i never had much issue with either my old or new shaft solo...

guess you get more breaks cos its a constant bore all the way with a 1 peice...

Thanks for the offer Paintball Bugdgie, will PM u.

i will also change the battery..

in retrospect, i will invest in a new barrel anyway as soon as i can.
maybey a Dye Boomestick or Ultralite, as i cant find many 2 piece shafts with big bore.

i think thats one of the benefits of the 06 is that the battery life is 52% better or some such figure...guessing this guy has an 05

or it could be that the paint got cold(it dosent like the cold)and as its going down the barrel it braking.
also i have seen alot of gats that brake paint down the barrel due to poor paint to barrel match(happens alot when paint is cold)
if the paint got dimples its getting cold try keep it warm even the winter stuff needs to be keept warm:eek:

You could well be right there.

As for barrel I would change the detents first and see how that goes. As I said I have dye ultralights but almost never use them as the shaft seems just as good if not better. Try giving Planet a ring and they might have some spare as obviously the 2-piece ones go on the XSV and Nexus guns anyway so they must have some there plus they are bound to be cheaper than a dye barrel
