Do you mean cut a grove into the screw and then use a screwdriver to get it out? That would work aswell but there is more chance of damaging/scratching a part of the gun.

to use a screw extractor u need to drill a hole down the middle of the screw n cos the screw is small u'll probably snap the screw extraxtor. unless ur using a straight flute screw extractor
the jml ones you dont have to drill into it ,the extractor bit cuts a new head on the bolt to pull it out check out the jml direct website for the video
Take the frame and electronics out so not to damage them put a piece of plywood either side of the frame and clamp it in a vice. Then use an impact driver and hammer fitted with a small spade ended bit just slightly bigger than the hex hole. Deffo stud removal method. I had the same problem with a crappy JT years ago....Nobby
