I guess WDP really don't have any influence over the draw either. All 3 of thier teams in the same division. It might be the easier division, but no more teams are going to to progress...

..now, far from being a stats man myself, if I had to massage a group to try and ensure one of my teams got in, I think I'd like to pop them all in the same group and make sure that group was the weaker division ...... seems to me that this strategy increases the likelihood of my team's success .... I could be wrong mind you ......... but I doubt it :)

But since this was decided on last year's seeding, it negates any sort of influence ........ we just ended up with a division from hell on one side and a relative 'walk in the park' on the other.

It's gonna be fun either way :)

And you say I have no boundaries!!!

Yes, you can see how the group came to be, but personally I like the drama of a public draw at the pro captains meeting - or even on the center court on the Thursday. As the draw id so important - I tend to think it should be dramatised and made part of the overall show.

One of those bingo machines that pops the balls out would add extra ZAZ!

Mind after that AND the fruit, there would be no money left for the actual event, so probably not the best suggestion.

I think you'll find that the brackets have a way of evening themselves out. After the first event you may look back and realize the brackets were not as lopsided as you first thought.

Not laughing but def a better group. On the other hand we have a history of doing really bad when we feel that we are in a "easier group"
...and on the other hand, I don't really think you are gonna swap the opportunity of 'doing really bad' in your group as against the opportunity of really well in ours :)

See ya there Mag - I'll be on the beach on Wednesday morning trying not to get burnt - it's a tough life this proball lark but someone's gotta do it :)
