Professional reffing will cost more money. Giving decent prizes will cost more money. Playing in the lovely stadiums that we all like is more expensive than using a field at the back of an existing site.
I'm afraid that a large number of tournament players will complain bitterly when the game fee ends up at around £100 per player to pay for all this though:(

we played in prague and had the best marshalling over the two days I have ever had, granted I dont play milleniums yet.

the marshalling squad was syndicate of paint
they marshalled the whole weekend just for their expenses being paid, they also said they would marshall in the UK.

on subject though,
I think prize money is a good idea as now most of the top teams are sponsored, so a lot of them will be given prizes they cant use.
but I also think the marshalling has got to get better, when your f@cked by a bad call in the finals playing for £500 then you will see very upset people, it stops being a `just a game` when big moneys involved.

Those players who have been around a few years will remember there were lots of events with cash prizes, Mayhem, Campaign, Masters and Paintball Park events to name just four, but some of the smaller events had cash prizes. The game fees were similar to now the difference was they were mainly site paint and 3p/ball (or more 4p/ball at one well know evet)

I am NOT suggesting we return to the old systems juts adding a comment.
