Ok a question i got is what pressure setting can a stock Vis. Imppy run on. Would i need to get a high pressure set up or a low pressure set up on my 88/4500 tank. What upgrades should i consider getting or that i would need on this gun too.

Stock Imps usually run at around 180 or so psi. That being the case, you can get either a low pressure or high pressure screw in tank for an Imp. The marker works fine with either one.

If you want info on Impulse upgrades, go over to www.impulseownersgroup.com and look there. You'll find more than you ever wanted to know about the marker on that site. Also try http://www.kamworld.net/paintball/ImpulseFAQ.html

Just to get you started, I prefer New Designs aftermarket parts for the Imp. Their delrin bolt and a blade trigger would be my first two upgrades. After that, I'd get a barrel (Freak, Pipe, Edge Kit, etc....) that you can adjust for different sized paints. Hope that helps.

If you want to use your existing 88/4500 tank get the vertical regulator model, and your tank will screw straight into it. You could get it with a bottomline CO2 maxflo, which will also accept your tank, but the bottomline maxflo is very bulky.

New Designz upgrades are generally the best available. A new bolt should be the very first upgrade, followed by a decent barrel, followed then by some form of trigger upgrade (the stock impulse trigger is a joke.) If you want one step better than a blade trigger, look at the HSW I-frame. The other must-have upgrade is a Tapeworm, or a VFF mod (if your body allows it.) This improves consistency and efficiency, and prevents bolt stick.

After that you get towards performance tuning -- a heavier hammer to compensate for the lighter bolt; the ND RIP valve to improve efficiency and consistency, the list goes on and on.

i think the fix for that is making sure not to overlube the hammer. fsdois apparently caused by excessive lube on the face of the hammer and it sticking to the valve a bit
rich
p.s. worked for me
p.p.s this fix was thought up by jack wood (of planet fame)]

I have never lubed the actual hammer, only the piston and its cylinder. Mine is stainless from Planet and i have never had problems with it.

Good advice is... never take the valve out unless you have a Impulse O-ring Kit handy... valve o-rings seal very well and to get them passed the valve cap threads and into the correct position is a nightmare. I shredded 2 o-rings trying to get it back in.

Overall an Impulse is a very easy to maintain marker, and making sure its cleaned and lubed after every day of play usually sees it alright. Owned one for over a year now, and these maintenance tips have never let me down.
