also if the ASA you screw it to has slightly oversised threads you will be able to unscrew the bottle off the reg at low preassures..

As peegee said

You could have saved yourself a lot of time and just got a Low Pressure shim pack for the PMI regulator. Thats what they are designed for... to be re-buildable...

I looked for......

Hi I looked for the PMI low pressure spring pack. I asked evil/PMI and all the UK based paintball retailers I know but none of them could help me.

Plus wouldn’t that of involved unscrewing the regulator from the bottle anyway?

Thanks

Dom

No, you can separate the front part of the reg to get at the spring stack without removing the bottle.

I see no problem with your bottle unscrewing off your reg so long as NO LOCKTITE IS USED, OR EVER HAS BEEN USED TO HOLD THE BOTTLE ON.

The regs are designed with blow holes so the worst that can happen if your reg starts unscrewing is the blow hole vents high pressure air and you crap yourself.

Loctite can plug up these blow holes turning your air bottle into a potential killer...

Planet Piper away from you freaks!
My god posts like this sacre the hell out of me!

When we build the regs we make it so they do not come off the tank easier, the reason for the is quite simple............... YOUR SAFETY!

Now there maybe no damage to the threads in the tank but what you have done is weaken threads. That is another reason why we make them the way we do.

Now we (PMI) do not sell direct to the public as we are a pur wholesale company, but I can tell you of at least 2 stores that have the spring packs in stock to lower the pressure. All you have to do is undo the 2 grub screws on the side of the red (silver top hat has the screws) then unscrew the silver part and then the spring pack is in side there.

Hope your new reg works for you.
