To be truthfull...I wouldnt worry about efficiency too much...unless your a back player, flinging 1500 rounds a game.
As long as you remember to top up between games your sorted.
The thing to strive for is consistency.

This will come in two ways;

Paint to barrel match, make sure your paint is a good fit for maximum use of teh air available.

On gun efficiency, gained from having a good Regulator (Hyper 2 you have is great, Evolve Pi would be better)...and setting your gun up correctly, with Input Pressure, LPR and Dwell.

The plus factors are this:

Consistency = Accuracy...if the paint fits teh barrel teh same everytime, and teh blast of air behind it is teh same every time, your velocity, will be the same, everytime, which menas your paint will group into a smaller circle, everytime.

You can run as close to the Velocity limit as you dare.
If teh limit is 280 Fps...and your gun is inconsistent, ranging from 260-291...you wll have to set your gun low...so that it ranged from 250-279, for example...which means you have the disadvantage of decreased range, which means more bounces at long range...BAD!

If your gun puts out 275, 275, 276, 275...you can run it at that and not really have to worry that you will get penalised for a hot gun..GOOD!

Always check your velocity through teh day though...usually after filling up...as it can vary with temperature, weather conditions etc.
Cheers for the advice mate...i will bear it in mind.
I understand the whole paint to barrel match...i'm getting an Evil Pipe kit soon, as before i didn't understand how important it was...firing site paint throu my matrix barrel was kinda not good...had A LOT of barrel breaks due to the balls being too big (polar ice - i think they tend to be slightly larger anyway)
As for the consistancy, it's not too good, which is one of the reasons i thought i ought to start playing round with things. It was firing in the 280's then suddenly went up to 310  so i gotta get that sorted...

Make sure your regs are clean and well lubricated with teh CORRECT LUBE!
Pipe kits are great, but a bit loud...tehy make teh Matrix a great deal louder than it should be (Think BLAM BLAM BLAM!!...rather than phut phut phut.)

Im using a Redz Pepper stick at teh moment..and taht is certainly quieter on my Ego than teh Pipe was, but ego's are fairly loud anyway.

Hmmm, i'm kinda reluctant to start taking regs apart 'cos i doubt i'll put them back together correctly...and i guess the Dye lube they came with would be the best lube to use?
As for the pipe kits, i've heard from quite a few people that they're the best barrels they've tried...i'll see if i can borrow one off someone and give it a go and see what it sounds/shoots like...

Yeah...absolutely...they are **** hot...but...so is my Redz Pepper Stick, and its not as loud, and isnt thin on teh front..plus I got it cheap!
Trouble is..if you dont check and clean your regs, then they will go wrong eventually...so...its a good idea to learn about it before you need to.
It really isnt difficult at all.
Its all in the manual mate.

Theres a Tourny at Ashford next Sunday, so you could pop down there for a fiddle, so to speak.
Think i'm down at Dartford next Sunday, then following Sunday at Stormit, then 14th i think i'll be at Ashford for the 5-man...but hopefully will have things sorted by then...or have a non-working gat...kinda 50/50 :D

Looking at your sig...you the guy i want when it comes to getting the Evolve bolt and a No Rise Clamping Feedneck then i guess....
