Just wondering what people found as the best, tried and tested settings on their PM5's...
I know it differs from gun to gun, but was gonna see if there's common areas...and try out a few different settings, but it would kinda help if i had a rough idea of where to start...:D

Settings for what?
And how is that Eclipse on off I fitted doing?
settings for dwell, eye-sensitivity, de-bounce, AMB and ABS...just wondering what other people have got, and how close they are to the factory settings...

haha, that on/off was useless!!! nothing to do with you putting it on i'm sure! :D it just had leaks all over the shop!!! ...my mate orders an on/off/purge, and got sent 2...so he gave one to me and it works perfectly.

been playing around with the matrix recently, being brave and changing things :D the trigger no longer wobbles like a "witches nipple" (simon  ) finally getting used to how it all works...

Well..it was leaking to start with, so I swapped teh o-ring around, thats all it is..needs a new suitable o-ring in it mate.

As for teh gun..well...you need to set up over a chrono with paint.
Lesley has a decent Chrono, so that shouldnt be a problem.

The idea, is to get the LPR (one at teh back under bolt) set as, low as possible, and your inline reg (fore grip) set as low as possible, and teh same with teh dwell...BUT, with teh best consistency and efficiency as well as full velocity..and...make sure it cycles all teh time..its a fine balance.

Also make sure you fully clean and lube your bolt before each days play.

Evolve do an upgraded Bolt that is more efficient.

Its a lot of piddling about!

Try looking on PB Nation in teh Proto section for tips, usually there is a sticky somewhere at teh top of teh first page that will tell you things liek this.

ok, cheers mate...will go over and have a look...do a bit more reading up before i go and **** up my gat :D

i've seen the upgrade bolts...but i think it's about time i start playing and stopped spending!!! haha...i'm sure i wouldn't notice the difference yet anyways...and a few people have had problems with the o-rings on the upgrade bolts, they continually move/fall off/break apparently...

awesome...well, it's def. something i'm considering, but maybe more for next season...see how things go this season...how much i play, and how much it's costing me...
possiblity of playing Madrid, Paris and Crystal Palace...and that wont come cheap...so will see how things go:D

EDIT: out of interest...what bolt do you have? i've had a look at the bolts and can only DM bolts...would a DM5 upgrade bolt fit a PM5???

To be truthfull...I wouldnt worry about efficiency too much...unless your a back player, flinging 1500 rounds a game.
As long as you remember to top up between games your sorted.
The thing to strive for is consistency.

This will come in two ways;

Paint to barrel match, make sure your paint is a good fit for maximum use of teh air available.

On gun efficiency, gained from having a good Regulator (Hyper 2 you have is great, Evolve Pi would be better)...and setting your gun up correctly, with Input Pressure, LPR and Dwell.

The plus factors are this:

Consistency = Accuracy...if the paint fits teh barrel teh same everytime, and teh blast of air behind it is teh same every time, your velocity, will be the same, everytime, which menas your paint will group into a smaller circle, everytime.

You can run as close to the Velocity limit as you dare.
If teh limit is 280 Fps...and your gun is inconsistent, ranging from 260-291...you wll have to set your gun low...so that it ranged from 250-279, for example...which means you have the disadvantage of decreased range, which means more bounces at long range...BAD!

If your gun puts out 275, 275, 276, 275...you can run it at that and not really have to worry that you will get penalised for a hot gun..GOOD!

Always check your velocity through teh day though...usually after filling up...as it can vary with temperature, weather conditions etc.
