It's a matter of degree here Paul. If they've already been lit up like an Xmas tree & they STILL continue their run, surely that's pushing it too far? Or if one of the shots they get on their way to do the mug is a goggle shot, then surely they can't justify carrying on with the run?
I'm afraid that the excuse of not knowing whether the shot(s) broke or not is getting to be just an excuse these days. I know you should carry on with the run until you get the chance to check yourself, but firstly you should go into the nearest cover, not pass 3 suitable barricades (still getting shot all the while) and finish the mug before checking yourself, and secondly I see many people then arguing that they received these self-same shots from the player they mugged, after they had shot him/her when they knew full well they had received the hits on their way in.
Playing on and wiping is nothing new in this sport, I've been watching it for many years. I think the difference now compared to say, 10 years ago is that in the old days it tended to be more prevalent the higher up the rankings you went, with novice teams hardly ever cheating. Nowadays it seems that even many of the beginners cheat as a matter of course, which I find a bit sad. They haven't got big sponsorship deals to keep that mean they need to keep on winning the trophies, and seeing as all that's at stake is a tin cup & usually not even an individual trophy of any kind is it really worth it?
