The EGO stands for Electromagnetic Gelatine Oscillator, and is really a Doomsday Paint Railgun device to be positioned in orbit. Either that or it's a Matrix.

Whatever it is, it's going to be sinister. I can't have been the only one to notice that "lord" Flash's new Barnet is distinctly the same as Dr Strangelove's.
