buy the best paint you can that will go through it, nothing more frustrating than hitting someone with the one or two shots you have only to have it bounce. I got someone on the lens with my pump last Sunday - bounced, his shot back broke on my neck - that's the last time I buy cheap paint!

Not for a pistol. It needs to be a balance of being able to break and not squishing in the mag. I tend to find 2* / silver grade stuff works, I tried gold in a 8 ball mag for tpx and it squished them into a pile of poo. You can off course cut tension out of the mag spring. Its a fine balance as we all know paint changes batch to batch. I tend to find someone using something that looks good for a pistol and get a handfull off them. Winter paints good but doesnt always break at distance . .a pistols not for distance really though.

@Ninjabreadman get a pump gun mate, you'd love it. Tippmann Sl68ii is what ive used for years

Pistols come with a whole arms length of added range, and the natural accuracy of pointing.

It's still a paintball gun, so exactly the same as the base gun with a short barrel, and isnt restricted to the woods - my one and only game of inflatable speedball ever was one on one pistol v pistol play, it ended with the two of us running around in circles back and forth chasing each other, (I won)

Someone is either a pistol person or isn't.

I must admit I've had my pistol a couple of years with most of it just being a bit of fun towards the end of a day at the walk-on. But last week it really came into use, my Geo failed during the middle of the game. I was able to place it behind a barrier in a tree and took out my pistol, some how I was able to get behind the other team up close and take out 3 people with 8 Shots... Only then to be taken out by my own team, lol its rare when it happens but when it does its awesome feeling!!

It should be fine, if it's not new then if you have a problem getting a clean puncture on the 12 gram could indicate that it has the original puncture pin which may not work with certain 12 grams. That should be unlikely now as they ought to have found their way to a tippmann tech by now for a repalcement

Maintain it as in the manual

Depending on how you wish to use it consider fitting the remote line adaptor for air instead of 12 grams
(The only thing that put me off with the tipx was that if you use it for more then a sidearm then you can get caught defenceless when you have to change 12 gram at the wrong moment, with the tiberius the 12 gram is in the magazine so you could manage about 3, be ready to swap mags as necessary and change 12 gram when convenient to you)

I've used mine on the remote line with a 13ci cylinder in a pouch and also mounted on a rail under the barrel. However at one game last year I played with dual tipxs with 12 grams

You will want a dump pouch if you are using any number of magazines

Look at the zeta mags, I've never used one in anger but spent a few minutes at a trade stall last year getting the feel to spin and reload.

I have a tipx and was not warned that when you service them ( or just go in for a good look lol) the spring and workings are very capable of emptying themselves all over your work area,the biggest thing is the chamber sight window on top,I spent ages looking for mine when it disappeared onto the floor so I would suggest a small amount of tape to hold it to the body as you take it apart. Have since been told it happens a lot.

With anything you take apart for the first time, do it carefully, prepare your working area and do it on a towel, lay out parts in the order you take them out, or in a rough shape / position of where they came from .... etc

It is a life lesson to hunt for a tiny spring everywhere

I do use those guide lines myself on my markers lol,I even have a desk to work at,but the sheer effort the pistol put into spreading itself around the room surprised me , hence why I decided to part the tiny little bit of knowledge I had gained to Scotty so he could hopefully avoid the hunt a chamber window game , I was informed it's a regular occurrence with these pistols after lol,so I now tape the little clear windows,.
