Depends what oil you use, if you use proper paintball gun oil you shouldn't have any trouble with o-ring damage. 3-in-1 will swell your o-rings, though.

(hammer is not a common word for markers like spyders as it isn't really hammer shaped. But ones like the Impulse and LCD are shaped like a hammer, hence the name).
I'm just using the term that PMI use in their documentation and technical support :D Kingman call them strikers, PMI call them hammers, same thing. The big chunk of steel in the bottom tube that hits the valve.

I've never had any problems with anything i've owned before. Went to the gunsmith, got shotgun 3-1 oil and it works perfectly.

Not the same as the type you get for the lawnmower, though. Anyway, let's not get into another oil thread ("I use slimline salad cream and never have trouble - except that I have to change all my o-rings every 500 shots and soak the body in olive oil overnight to clean it")... As a general rule, use the lubricant recommended by the manufacturer, and use it sparingly but enough to properly cover the o-rings that need it.
