I know it wouldn't be for everyone but i've thought that maybe for back players on certain fields, the idea of having a pod connector on the lid that seals when you pull the pod off but could be left in place off the break and then discarded back to a standard hopper.
Stupid, impractical i know but it's just something that keeps popping into my brain...... just like lolly badcock does really
