Pics in sigs.

But comon... If you use any forums at all you should need to know how to link pictures... Ok maybe not in sigs but still its usefull for the techforums etc. Anyway there isn't a problem with pics in sigs imo as long as theyre kept to a degent size... i.e. 10Kb

But if a Mod wants to delete this thread do it!

Munkeh to insert a pic in a post is done by following the links from the control panel starting with the IMG button but signature pics are a different thing altogether, and although Rooster is a MOD, me and Famine went back to our posts ourselves and deleted/edited what we had typed (wasn't able to delete the actual posts) If a free for all happens with the pics in sigs cos of the way the pic is inserted you can post something huge with no problem and it doesn't effect the forum in its bandwidth but would piss the mods off 'cos the screen would be full of a pic and hardly any typing....look at that user from I think NZ who had an Avatar 4 times the size everyone else had, it distorted the forum layout, not everyone using this forum has the benifit of fast computers/connection and large screen displays.

Well I don't want to put a huge pic anywhere as that would just be stupid. I just want to add a Race Gun Products logo like Angel as I have just got a Race Gun grip frame. If one of you could PM/email me a way of doing this in lamens terms that would be great.

Ok, i take the point. But i still think pics within moderation (as i said before 10Kb is a good size, 2 secs to DL on a 56K) And in response to Charlies post the easiest way is just to put it as your avatar! Just one thing though how big is Tortoise Lickers Sig cos i have cable and it still takes me an age to DL it!

Charlie, if you sort out a picture that you want in your sig. you can mail it to me and i'll sort it out for you and send you back the code. then all you need to do is copy and paste the code into your sig bit in User settings.

MMM yes good idea and how big is yours TB-303 ? (oh as you can see I have altered the code to include the url but if I delete the second url it won't display, view the source and you will see what I mean, PM me if you have any ideas)

Tortoise Lickers is a slow download for me as well, but then animated Gifs are never small files (well not unless optimised) TL's can't be.

My Sig pic was larger, but Rooster whined that it was forcing him to scroll across the page to view the other threads (see what I mean about large files) so I reduced the pixel size.

With that thinking as well although I have a large screen....Famine yours is centered, chances are that will make other users have to scroll about to read threads you have posted in, just a thought.

Yep i know, i know. i'm on the case but i'm having hastle making it smaller without loss of colour, but i don't post much here so i guess it is'nt too big a problem.
Mark, i see you got the link thing to work on your pic, did you work it out or was my mail any use to you?

Um sorta a bit of both but it still isn't totally right, that why I said view the sorce code and decide where I went wrong

Oh and Revoss a flash signature that would work (everyone has the flash plugin????) I wouldn't have thought would be a problem but as long as the appearance size (not file/load size) isn't huge, go for it, we'll soon jump on ya if it slows us down (oh crap sounding like a mod now )

It all starts to get a bit extreme when u have ppl doing flash Sigs... Why cant we just have a small little pic with ur name on it! Then every1 would be happy!
