Yup, but it's not as safe as jellyfish cricket.

I think the low number of injuries may be because it's played by less people. I've seen some of the stats, they are a bit misleading. Anyway, how many times have you been injured while paintballing? and how many times did you register it with the relevant health and safety body?
Soccer is a non contact sport, you play it on a flat field and only have one target to worry about.......so how come paintball is safer? you can get all of the same injuries, plus a whole bucketload of unique to paintball ones.

The stats I've seen have been per person taking part or per man-hour rather than total number of injuries for the sport as a whole, and it still comes out pretty safe.
Soccer may be a non-contact sport in theory, but I've known many people with permanent or long term injury (breaks, torn ligaments etc) from crunching tackles on the football field. As long as you take away the minor bruising, paintball is probably just about the safest sport I've ever taken part in.

Not quite. Being a stupid b****, I played with a minor ligament strain in my elbow and as anyone who knows anything about ligaments will tell you, if you work them hard when already damaged they get really, really bad. Wasn't paintball that started it in the first place.
Anyway, fit & ready to play - as soon as I have a job again & can aford it!:(
