marking trees

marking trees was an of shoot, but never took of as you need to be fearly close to the tree, (and if you mist and hit another tree tha you did not want felled you look a bit silly when the guys come in to fell a stand of douglas and you have mark a load of srcub as well) it easier to walk up to it as we do now, sheep on the other hand fcuk of when try and mark them with a can......

'Survival Games' and 'skirmish' were the first two big franchises that took the sport forwards, at about the same time. Skirmish in the UK used to advertise as est. 1984. I think 'Survival games' possibly had a jump on them by about a year but as the answers above prove, there is a couple of possible 'inventors' around the world at about the same time. Still I have enough to 'blag' my presentation as theres going to be no-one in the room who can prove / argue otherwise !
