what exactly is the difference between the new mini m's and the bricks that were used last year other than a bit of paint?

As far as I'm aware, they are slightly different in dimension and the top of the bunker is shaped, like a slanted roof :-|

I'd be seriously pissed to be folking out money on a upgrade kits, especially when they arent much difference between them. If the Mills want to change things round every season then why not bloody use the existing bunkers which have been discarded over the previous years. Recycle the god damn things!!!
