So I guess that answers all our questions then.

Now, this was also included in the mail:

"The coaches’ boxes will be moved to the opposite side of the field from the tower. Any rules clarifications about that changed will be published as soon as I receive them."

I hope they will also move the pit areas since the coaches should be able to descide who´s playing the next game etc. I doubt they will move the pit though, as this will obscure the view for the spectators. Have asked Steve to clarify and will post as soon as he does.

I will give more details as soon as I get a little more time. The only change will be coaches on the opposite side of the field from the tower and pit area. Communication between the pit crew side and the coaches will have to be between rounds and via hand signals. More later.

Why???

Steve this sounds so stupid. Why have a coach if he cannot be in charge of everything (including desciding who´s playing next etc)??? Have you ever seen a team sport where the coach is situated AWAY from his players??? Nick, I think Robbo will not be the only one getting pissed at this. I find this utterly stupid.

Can you give any reasons for this Steve? The only reason I can see is that the tower judge will see when the coach throw in the towel and that the coach can see the scoreboard easier...

So why not allow the Coach to have a Radio-link to the pits?

Would solve both problems

Not really as sum1 said earleir if you put the pits at the coaches end the crowd arent going to be able to see the game very well, because the scoreboard will be at the oposite side from the coach so I guess as will be the spectators.

So............ why just not try and move stuff about and keep it simple, have the coach the pits and the tower all at one side of the field, just like every other XBALL event there has been in the past

I think you misunderstand me Mak

Have the Coaches on the Crowd side, facing the Scoreboard, and a radio-link to the pits on the other side so they can keep in constant communication with the Team

Actually in Pomona the NXL and divisional Xball fields had the coaches opposite side of the pits. So this appears to be a decision made by the NXL and probably one the EXL has to follow, for whatever reason.

That's correct. Because some of the Open X Ball is going to be played on the EXL field, both fields will be as close to identical as possible.
