heres an idea that worked a treat for me......take your dad to a walk on day, he will love it.

after mine played once he was more than happy for me to get into it, he even went with me when i bought my first marker (trracer pump - 12 years ago at least!) and on my 18 he bought me a new mini cocker (around 900 stock then)
these days he doesnt play anymore but every time i phone him hes always asking about it and he loves being sent my old playing shirts!

Being a horrible parent, I can understand what your parents are going through.

Then again im a old paintballer who still loves this game, I wont tell you my first gat.

Anyway back to the subject in hand, don’t send money in the post for a start. I suggest a cheque to cover your ass, this way you have proof you gave him some money.

If the player in on p8tballer then ask if he is a good egg and a man of his word.

Like a lot of things in this world, preparation and information is the most important thing. ;)

Have fun with your new gat, just don’t shoot me too much

HeHe - thats what my son did - but i liked it so much i bought myself a cocker..... and bought him an A5 ;)

Didnt last long tho - now we spend spend spend - and he does sod all to earn it - which will change :)

When i was a lad, i raced RC cars which was probably almost as expensive as this, but i did a paper-round and eanred a few quid which i offered (not gave!) my Dad - he was happy to buy anything i needed then "pay me back later son" lol - yeah right! ;)

So if you have problems with your parents paying for your stuff - show willing AND GET A JOB! bringing in £3 or £5 quid a week doing a paper-round toward your stuff to me is a sign of willing - even if its sod all a contribution!

Not all us oldies are daft you know ;) ;)

personally i look at it as an investment - by the time my son is old enough to play pro - the sport will be worldwide with transfer fees to match the NBA and ill manage him whilst mooching off his absorbitant playing fees :D

no marshalling jobs going?....whats wrong with getting a shop job?
I work on a farm in the shop or in the fields and its not a bad job, wage currently £4.15 (omg went up by a whole 5p this week!!!11!!), and I get holiday or sick pay sometimes (and free food).

but its gotta be done. I work every saturday and all my spare sundays when i'm not playing...in order to get to play

its got to be done mate you can't rely on your parents in the end they will get annoyed and just say NO you arent going his week.

Also will they pay for you to play abroad?? NO WAY

you will see the benefits big time when you get a nice marker and own all of your own kit, tbh you won't be able to squeeze both tourney bills AND £500 ish for gat/hopper/air off your parents.

peace

Another option, is to have 3rd part hold the money, until you are satisfied taht all is well.

Also, rather than send CXheques (I hate cheques)....Paypal or, just get teh guys/girls bank details and pay the money into their account. You get a receipt, with teh account number etc on and teh vendor can see you have paid, and post teh gun out taht day.

Of course, if your really trustworthy, like me...people like Paintball Budgie, will send their gun, to one of your friends, to view and check out, before they pay for it...just because, they are one of your friends!!:D

Some people just have that sort of reputation;)
