I know that it probably wouldn't be popular with the paintball companies
Bingo

...but wouldn't it be an idea to play games where you are limited in the number of balls you can shoot?
I recon for each unlimited paint tourney there must be a limited paint tourney. Examples are the PanAm circuit in the US, and the Hawks Bay Triples in NZ.

I don't mind a bit of limited paint. I just use limited paint tourneys as practice for real tournaments. And keeps the costs down.

Someone made the "requires skill over spray and pray" comment above. It can use different skills sure. But I'd say it takes more skill to stay alive, accurate snap shooting and good moves become much more important when you know some turtle at the back is gonna light you up if you phuk up.

Cheers,

Paint consumption control is a big reason why a lot of people I've known, myself to a certain degree included, have switched from electros to Cockers. (I would still like a Sovereign II or the new III if I could get a cool enough one with a 3 oring 3 way, super high flow valve, Cocker reg ready, and some common thread type like Spyder or Angel threads...Arrow Precision I hope you're reading this!!!) Less paint consumption is a sort of afterthought/by product of more accurate shooting, more movement (or better cross-containment by backs), etc. not a primary goal. I say still carry a full load of paint, just try to shoot more mask and body and less bunker and sky.
