I was thinking today, and I thought, **** people get through a lot of paint.

I know that it probably wouldn't be popular with the paintball companies, but wouldn't it be an idea to play games where you are limited in the number of balls you can shoot?

This would make the game interesting, as you couldn't shoot loads of paint at a bunker ,"just in case he comes out".

anyway, just a thought.....

We do already - it's called "limited paint format"!

Half of Bully's 2002 series is limited paint, currently 1 200 shot hopper plus 1 maximum 140 shot pot per player. There was a debate on here a while back about which is the preferred limited paint format e.g. limited to how much per player per game, per team per game, or per team per tournament (the last one, however, is too open to cheating to be any good). I'm pretty sure that this was related to the Midland Masters series, though someone correct me if I'm wrong.

There are 2 good reasons to play limited paint. Firstly, it means it costs less to play so impoverished students & the like can afford to play more often & it takes the advantage away from heavily sponsored teams. Secondly it makes players improve their skills especially accuracy rather than relying on volume. As a back player, I personally loathe playing it :D :D :D but it has a very important place.

well, looks like I've made a fool of myself.........

I've only been on the scene about a month (that's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it)

It's good to know anyway, (soon to become an impoverished student).

Mother, is that you?
jonc, you aint made a fool of yourself.... cripes you've only been playing a few minutes, there's loads to learn and I think this is the place to learn it.

I played in a limited paint tourny once - 'a hopper a game' it said... mate you should have seen the size of the hoppers. Most plumbers merchants in a fifty mile radius were completelyt out of 7" diameter pipes!

Limited paint is often either 200 or 400 rounds a game, and as mentioned above it is intended for more affordable play and to add a challenge factor at times. Actually since I shoot a Cocker it doesn't affect me that much for 3man, which is pretty much where it occurs most. Money factor aside, it also makes for a lot less mess in your car and on the site after the tourney from paint bags and boxes!

hell you need to get todurty dans website he has the best concept for a game i have ever heard of.
Its called gettisburg, you go out without a hopper and your paint in a bag. This way you have to load the balls one at a time and only load another after you have fired the previous one. this would deffinatly limit the amount of paint used in a game.

Our last 5 man tourney was limited paint to help keep the cost down and to encourage skill above the spray and pray tecnic it was fun no one moaned to me about it and the sup air was still awash with paintballs.

Back player tend to be a little worried cause they are just used to laying down the paint to keep players stuck in tight but like I said it was fun and some thing we will be doing again well June in fact.

Peace love and cookies
