paintball is as extreme as skiing and snowboarding( i instruct both) yeh skiers/snowboarders jump off cliffs,(50ft is the biggest ive done) backflips, rodeos, mistys it has a different buzz though i get a massive buzz when i bunker someone just as i would if i launched of a fifty foot cliff, each sport has its own risks(i broke my leg last year) but hell you can die crossing the street.
However baggy clothes are a must you must look as dope and badass as you can man, it all comes with the attitude of the sport.

See, I board too. After cracking my wrist on a bad landing (Anyone at the IAO will tell you about the scars from surgery...) I've decided to dedicate to strict freeriding and learning the laydown turn.

See, in paintball I cracked my ankle, but it was such a TINY break that it didn't require a cast. Paintball is not extreme in the meaning of the sports term "extreme". I'm sorry. It may FEEL extreme, but it's not!

And if you've ever tried to snowboard on the crud Wisconsin hills call "Snow", you would know what "Extreme" is!

Tyger, by your definition rugby is an extreme sport?;)
I think the point is that paintball isn't a "normal" sport. Anything that isn't easily pigeon-holed seems to get classified as an extreme sport. It seems that p'ballers are into much of the same sports, culture and music assoiciated with extreme sports. Lots of regulars on the boards here have mentioned mountain biking, snow boarding and surfing, plus every "what music are y'all into" thread ends up like the soundtrack to a snowboard movie.
It's not nescasarily(?sp) a bad thing, I think. It makes it easier for someone coming into the sport if it looks familiar.
maybe it's not Extreme, but where else can paintball be? Chances are we won't see paintball results at the end of the 11 o'clock news, but we might see them on Channel Extreme.
