GOING OFF THE POINT A IKKLE BIT ME FINKS??

right the point is that us peeps over ere who love paintball are all a bit worried at the moment as it looks like our stupid goverment might be banning air guns,
which in turn would we think get rid of paintball markers also.

so with that in mind it doesn't matter what the guns look like we just won't be allowed to use them period which suck's

the point is peeps i been playing the best part of a year now love the game and i know there is dangers but not in out side of the sport we are all responsable for our equipment and safety so will be well pissed if they do go ahead with this

regards

Dude, your Government are not talking about banning airguns and even if they were it wouldn't necessarily extend to markers...

Hypothetical scenario

It's hard enough already for armed police to distinguish between someone holding a semi-auto pistol and a cigarette lighter (here in the UK anyway - they don't get much practice at seeing REAL guns), which is why the new ban will include "replicas" - if you're carrying something that even LOOKS like a real gun, then you must be up to something.

So, say this latest round of knee-jerk election-campaigning DOES result in a special classification for paintball markers, we're let off the hook, and we can continue to carry our markers about to and from paintball shops, tourneys, etc. What will happen if people then start disguising REAL guns as paintball markers?

Looking at those pictures above, some of them are only identifiable as being paintball markers because of a tell-tale hose here, or a vert feed tube there... not incredibly hard to imitate on a real gun after a £5 trip to B&Q (it's a hardware store), is it? :(

Admittedly if ppl are going to lengths to disguise their weapons then they could choose just about anything... violin case sales will suddenly increase! :D

Ok, you wanna see something fun?

Real paintball gun, really works. Sells for $490-$520 US. You have the choice of "Plastic" or "Metal" casings. I guess so you can hear that cool "clang" sound like in a John Woo flick when you're shooting indoors... Oh, and che 'clips' are removable.

Made and marketed by http://www.asiapaintball.com. But that's not where I got the pic from.

You wanna see somehtign that'll make your toenails curl too? http://www.asiapaintball.com/Players_pic/RAG_V.asf That vid will do it. Yeah, those guys are wearing safety glasses..... IF EVEN THAT MUCH!!!

Yeah, very realistic, just like a real M16, mainly made of plastic, 40 yard effective range and doesn't work when it rains.
No, my mistake, that's the SA80.

What is the point of these things? just go play soft air and don't get paintball banned.

By the way, the UK government ARE talking about banning air-guns, they just aren't bright enough to tell them apart from markers. And anyway, why not ban air-guns? they're only used for killing pigeons and blinding paperboys, so what's the problem?
And if there's a valid argument for keeping them that outweighs the numerous blindings and one death (in the North East) then I'll take it back. So ban air-guns, but leave our markers alone.
(purely from a UK perspective by the way).
