its specific energy and it may be 7.5 joules so 214fps is a figure they gained when they tested with a normal paintball.

Just to add to the mix, this is a report that I had forwarded this morning from one of my German paintball photography colleges:

Hi there,

first of all: I was not at the scene while the raid happened.
Thus all information concerning this case I report based on infos I got from the most frequently used German tournament paintball portal www.pbhub.de

Apparently 60 (!) riot policemen entered the hall while a 5-man tournament was held. They entered the field in the middle of a running game and verbally forced all players to lay their markers down. Every marker in the hall got confiscated. There was no direct physical force involved and all policemen were somewhat friendly - they carried out their orders.

Apparently planning the intervention was made already three weeks ago and at least one player got a glimpse on a file one policeman carried around including a printout of a screen shot of their team's web page. Obviously extensive research was done, although the policemen at the scene didn't really have the insight on the sport (running on the field without eye-protection whilst a game was going on, asking refs for their markers, asking not for team captains but in Germany somewhat derogative military teams for group leaders, etc).

According to an official police report 58 guns were taken into custody. Criminal investigation proceedings are currently running against 54 players.

Everything else is rumours or assumptions. Although someone who obviously didn't like what was going on on that field tipping off the police is highly probable. The current atmosphere is complete bafflement, frightening, outrage at the same time.

A video is in the making and yet has to be postproduced but will be available on youtube soon covering the entire thing.

To All UK Players

If you want to do your bit to help prevent this situation coming to the UK I would suggest that you either take out UKPSF membership, or if you have it already, renew it promptly, not just when you need to in order to play a sanctioned event. In addition to the liability insurance it offers you as an individual, the subscriptions help to support the tireless effort Steve Bull puts in to representing paintball's best interests to the media and powers that be in the UK

Reading up on the law, and it would APPEAR that there may be an exception that you don't need a license for a firearm in your own home/business, or in someone else's home/business with their permission. But I'm reading an English summary.

looks like there wont be a video now. According to a post on another forum, there were additional vids up for a brief moment, but user and all vids have vanished into thin air.

Chris, why are you doubling up with the 'Raehl' sign-in name - feeling schizophrenic in yer old age?
