hmmmm well it would appear that Jahlad has successfully translated my theory for the masses. Mr Scout please take note (he's more economical in his syllable usage).

Not only does strongles post make sense...but it is accurate. However, the ammount of "fun factor" only really matters to anyone who is playing. Now that will come into play when people see paintball in the Olympics or X games and want to go play, but until then it doesn't really matter.

The problem that I have heard in the past between xgames and paintball is that the Xgames are for individual sports, and paintball would undoubtedly be horrible to watch 1-1 only. That seems to be one of the things that is holding us back in that aspect.

Quick here...

ESPN has not, at this point, wanted paintball in thier X-Games. I refrence to http://www.tyger.us/pubimages/ESPN.JPG which was printed in thier "ESPN the Magazine" a while ago. 2002, I think.

The olympics have removed a few events for PC reasons. In the80's the removed a shooting event in which participants shot at a paper target in the shape of a wild boar. So I think that a paintball event, where you shoot a 'gun' at 'people', might be frownd upon by a conservative olympic committee.

Nevermind the drugs, the lack of an internaitonal ruling body, and standard rules...

Oh yeah, I think roller skating is an olympic sport too, but they have an internationial ruling body nobody cares for. (If I recall correctly)

I wouldn't mind seeing paintball in the olympics, we just need to tweak the hell out of the game to make it a true 'sport', but nobody likes to hear that.
