Great place to go to uni. The student nights at the clubs are excellent! drinks are pricy but no worse than anywhere else i know. So much to do its unbelievable! (plus sitting on the beach when its sunny staring at the fine short skirted fillies is quite simply a joy everyone should experience.

Plus if anyone stays "oh brighton isn't that where all the gays are?" Has never had the pleasure going out in Brighton. Just stay to the right of the pier (out of Kemp town) and you'll be fine.

Also they've all stopped stabbing themselves and leaving needles on the beach down there now so it should be the most awesome place to spend three years! You will love it! Just stay well away from the Moolescomb(sp) estate.

(He's right about Moulsecomb though) Oh and depending on where you stay in halls there's a pub called the hikers rest near one of them. Even if your dying of thirst DON'T go in there.

Other than that its a QUALITY place to go uni.

sounds wicked, i might even be there for 7 years, doin architecture. i think im stayin on the moulsecomb campus so i better watch myself lol And il make sure to stay away from the hikers rest, thanks for the warning

The Moulescoombe campus is fine cos it's on the main road out of Brighton. Don't vernture too far off the beaten track though, and stay the hell away from Whitehawk! Also, avoid West Street on a Friday/Saturday night like the plague, unless you actually enjoy getting a kicking from pissed up townie scum.

I lived in Brighton for 4 years and loved it, but be warned: It is by no means a cheap place to live!

moulscombe campus is pretty sweet, its on the uni side of the road wheres the rough part is the other side. i was up at falmer halls and they rocked, just a bit out of town but sometimes it had its benefits, like being just over the road from sussex uni who have some fit art and dance students haha, beware of falmer train station at night, can be a bit rough. west street is where its at on a fri and sat night altho as mentioned look out for the townies, in the year i was down there it only kicked off once or twice. top place to live and study

Falmer Station at night is definitely not a place I want to be. I always used to get the N25 or a taxi back to campus. I was just thinking though, there's so much open space there that either Brighton or Sussex uni could have their own paintball field. Neither place had a paintball club either, from what I remember.
