Another point that i haven't read is that in america guns are accepted. I know it sounds stupid but how many guns do you think are in the average joes house? I know gangstas and that run around with them but stiil guns here in england aren't as accepted as in america. I have a feeling that some people may feel uncomfortable playing with what looks like a real gun in the woods....
Also if a player had a gun and tried to transport it on a plave to maybe a small tourney if the police or authority cottnoed on they would be down on him like a ton of bricks

i don't know but i think we should move away from the military style side of the game... upon saying that working for a site that clthes the customers in camo and stuff that may sound a little ironic :)

Not meaning to sound stupid and you may have already re-saerched this but how do you know what the punters want? Have you actually been out there and asked them while also showing them a picture of what it would look like? I know if someone did that to me i would be put off the sport even though it is a non lethal sport if you abide by the rules.

The 'punters' on the whole go for the idea that they can 'splat' their mates with a paintball.

A first timer still gets the fun of pointing the marker at the other team, pulling the trigger and "shooting" his or her mate/colleague/boss.

The shinier, more colourful the hardware, the more chance the sport will be percieved as exactly what it wants to be percieved as A SPORT.!!

Personally, I think what the 'punters' would really like is to see UK prices for markers and paint come down to a comparable level as is currently enjoyed in the States.

The further we get away from realistic looking markers the better.
I really think it would put more people off the idea of coming and playing.

This has nothing to do with punters at all. In fact it would be better for tourney players to use them. At least safety would be strictly adhered to. All it needs is for one person to be seriously injured on a punter day with a real looking gun. How much bad press do you think paintball would get then? The sun would have a field day " Rambo wannabe's running wild in the woods" I also think that punters dont want a real looking gun. It actually sounds rather sad if you think about it. How would it improve the game? How much more would sites charge for kit hire? An M16 look a like would cost more, be harder to fix and replace parts. So the price of paintball goes up and the numbers of punters go down. Not good which ever way you look at it really

Thanks for input

Okay guys, We are NOT going to do it...Thanks for the interest and comments although you are all missing the point.... you or most of you play tourney paintball and although we all started at site punter level ........... Remember the first time you went to a site the adenalin rush the camo feeling and the war games as they use to be called ...... As for myself I am etc mililary for 4years in the paras and 3 years in another well known unit.....So for brokemelon and the likes Ive been there and done it......
As for no camo tourneys I was one of if not the first to intruduce no camo at tourneys with wolfsport gear as everyone was still wearing camos ..tigerstripe,dennison, advantage etc.....then JT and the likes came into the same view as ourselves to get away from camo/war paintball ,So again I knew the way our loved sport should be played... Yet I dont want the sport to go backwards but again we felt the sites where losing customers and yet they still play war games....so we felt if we put this thread on here we could see if Site owners would be interested...But all we got is tourney players comments...... As for the costs of the markers as M16 etc they would work out at approx £200-250 each which is about the same as starter markers are now...with back up from ourselves to repair them if required and training to site personnal to maintain them Free of charge.....so it wasnt a bad Idea........ But again thanks we will not be making them in the UK and we feel we might as is proved here that we might be misunderstood in what we intended to do..

Very big thank you and best regards

By The Way !!

There are starter kits and markers for first timers which are cheap in semi mode so as the old timers will know the price of kit now is alot cheaper then most of you remember so it is a lot cheaper to play now........ But unlike our selves who support and sponsor all levels of teams most other Companys dont which we feel is wrong as they make alot of money of the Novice and am players and give loads of freebies to pros....... We have always tryed to help the lesser teams in playing our sport as you can see by the sponsored teams we cover ................ Ask them they will tell you...we are not the villains....

regards
Tony

What is a "punter"? I'm guessing maybe a rec-player? I've heard that term many times and can't figure out what it is.

Not that it matters any but I like markers that look futuristic. :D
