Nothing, that's misuse of equipment and no different to me hitting you with a potato and calling for chefs to be banned.
It's a different matter when alternative ammo is supplied.
The only difference between a marker and an air gun is what it's designed to fire.... correct?
It ceases to be a marker if it aint firing paint.

So no more of this "errrrr you could kill someone with a house brick, they should be banned" crap. It's irrelevant. The HO definition of a marker (the thing they currently ignore) is something that fires ammunition of a "frangible" nature. What does it make them if they fire solid rounds?

Oh, and if you put a stone in a marker, you'd have a broken marker.

Here we are again, Jose; I have a strong feeling of deja vu.

Look- people want to practise with them and other people want to sell them.
That far outweighs the fact that putting them through a marker in the UK could change it's legal status and get us all playing lasertag. And don't think I'm only talking about one brand- I've seen reballs and don't consider them any kind of dangerous other than legally but some of the rubber "training balls" out there are bloody lethal and very bouncy and you can't trust politicians to discriminate between one brand and another when the banning frenzy has them in its grip. We've heard a bit lately about markers being sold on the net by gadget companies etc to all comers and worried about that, but I've seen respected Uk companies selling rubber balls on Ebay and which is more attractive to the person looking to do something stupid- paintballs that leave a splat or rubber balls that can be reused and will hurt more:rolleyes:
Anyway- same 'ol, same 'ol, we'll get shouted down by people who need the training edge or want to cash in selling the things and can't/won't understand the danger inherent in firing anything other than a paintball through a marker in this silly country of ours. Next stop frikkin laser beams.

I love the fact you use the word 'rounds'
I like 'shells' and, of course, 'bullets'.
'Balls' is so old now. Time for a change, and 'rounds' is a great one. Thanks!
As for solid 'rounds', I think if you have insurance for it (the key), and its not against the law, then it should be OK.

The Reballs are getting quite a reputation and they havn't even really hit the states yet, but when they do I forsee a major change in paintball, team training in particular.
Pedant.

What do you call them? Call me old fashioned, but I thought the description on the box, (the one that the manufacturers used) was kinda' appropriate. I'll let them know you don't agree. I'm sure they'll be heartbroken.

Good point though..... If you have insurance and it's not against the law, then it should be OK.

So, your point is...... if it's not against the law, then, in fact, it's not against the law.

Point is, what is the legal position on solid balls fired from a paintball marker for training with (see, solid rounds is much better)....... any ideas? 'Cos they are legal as long as they are legal doesn't really help does it?

Talking from a UK viewpoint, where we are lucky to be allowed hairdryers and staple guns at the moment.

I have a nickel plated staple gun with a 30 round clip (loaded!) if your interested. Don't worry I've shaved the serial number off already and I can throw in some cardboard piercing rounds too:)
