About a year ago, I was worried about solid training rounds in paintball, and the legal implications this had. At the time the concensus was "don't stir it" so I left it. I figured that now, seeing as we are yelling so much about ramping it doesn't really matter what we draw attention to, so, if we are worried about ramping changing the law on markers........ what about firing solid rounds ?

I love the fact you use the word 'rounds'
I like 'shells' and, of course, 'bullets'.
'Balls' is so old now. Time for a change, and 'rounds' is a great one. Thanks!
As for solid 'rounds', I think if you have insurance for it (the key), and its not against the law, then it should be OK.

The Reballs are getting quite a reputation and they havn't even really hit the states yet, but when they do I forsee a major change in paintball, team training in particular.

the reball website says you should fire at something like 240 FPS.. then it is not a problem.

Reball sites might be coming to the uk soon you have to go to this website and email them to let them know where you want it.

IF...a marker, was to be treated as an Airgun, which apparently, they arent..technicly, if it was taken off of you...they can test it with any amunition available...so...if a reball..was put in, and had greater mass...the muzzle energy could go over the legal limit and you would be buggered.

This happened to people using airguns..quite legally...but for some reason, teh police took it...bunged some Prometheus pellets in...bingo..over teh limit.

Guys FFS a reball is 28% lighter than a paintball which means that the kentic energy and pressure on inpact is less.

Also because a reball bounces and doesnt splat or disperse then it doesnt have the same inpact, I know you will say paintball bounces hurt more but its different with a reball as it is lighter, different make up with regards to how much it deforms on a target etc etc etc etc etc etc.

Markers are ignored because they fire "frangible" ammo...... start messing with that and you're doing a lot more than messing with ROF.
Just thought I'd mention it while we were harping on about ramping etc....

That used to be the case but now its just REBALL there isnt two different types of reballs now..its just the one reball that can be fired at 300fps at people with masks on.

When fired at 300fps maybe..but...if your marker was taken, and you had been shooting Paint, thena reball was put in...the marker would shoot it out, faster than 300fps...which, might, might push it over the limit.

Take a .22 air rifle, take the barrel off, and put it on a .177 rifle...oopps 14ft/lbs...the .177 has to be fired faster, due to its lower weight...so...will bung out the .22 faster than it should be, hence increase in muzzle energy...same principle..
