we used to regularly practice speedball, the old speedball not this inflatable stuff, in just a pair of goggles shorts and shorts, just a hopper no pack.
we never overshot each other though apart from maybe brittle

It might sound like fun.... until you take a shot in the happy sack

I would advise wearing some protection in that area
