So we have to use the "approved" vendors at CC this year but have a couple of questions

1) Do we have to preorder or are can we turn up and pay as you go?
2) Prices - are they going to be released?? Saying you dont know, too early etc is a load of cobblers, so please release the pricing for everyone to guage who or what to use??

Thanks

Mike, I don't know but I would find it amazing if you had to pre-order, very unlikley a paint supplier at Campagn is going to run out.

With regards the second point, do you really want to have cost as your primary decider with paint?

I'd wait till you get there and try a few out for bounce/burst/roundness tests if you aren't tied into a particular brand and see which works best through your kit etc

Personally, within reason, I would go with whichever works best ;)

Cost isnt the isue for me matey.

However, what I am trying to do is make it known for everyone so that they can plan/budget etc. There are still those who use cost as a decider though so I still think it would help to let us know what these are.

Mind I can see that the paint suppliers would not be likely to say as they are scared of getting into a price battle.

Go on, someone be daring and post!!

It is unlikely that any of the vendors will announce prices before the event since it is in all of their interests to selll for about the same price.

I suggest that you give phoenix or manic paintball a ring for zap and draxxus resectively. They may be able to help you withprices and provide some idea of what will be available.

I hope this helps.

Why dont the Millennium fix a price for the paint bought at the events. All paint the same price.

Sell it all from a Millennium Booth and distribute the cash to the vendors at the end of the event.

It stops companies giving it away and selling inferior paint and justifying it with a low price.

The paint companies dont have to lose money to compete and the players know what they are going to pay.

Problems solved for all concerned.

Because that doesn't allow for sponsored or assisted teams who get free or reduced price paint. A team who has been loyal to one particular brand all year may well be offered a better deal than a team that's just shooting the paint for that event, and what about the teams who get X free boxes a month & have saved this up for a big tournament like CC.

I am not sure I understand your point Liz.

I am not suggesting that it becomes a "site paint only" situation. I am merely proposing a simpler way of doing things.

The paint wars have started to devalue a case of paint so much it's getting silly. You dont have to charge 100 quid a case just agree on a reasonable price for a box of paint. £25 would be a good starter.

If you have paint that you have saved and it is made by a Millennium paint sponsor then you can shoot that paint. I can't see a problem with that. Sponsored teams can carry on as they have done all season, no problem.

The other positive effect this would have would be to encourage the paint suppliers to supply good paint. Not £10/case paint that bounces of steel posts from 3 feet away.

So...you get better control over quality and the players know how much they are going to pay. I dont think the paint companies would see it as a negative because it means that they wont have to drop the price of a case to 50p because the guy next door has done the same.

It's good buisness sense. If it carries on the way it is going the industry is going to suffer and that will have a knock on effect for everyone.

Just my opinion you understand and feel free to tell me I am talking out of my arse. :)

Your talking outta your arse!:D

Freedom of Choice!!!

If a team wishes to shoot a particular brand and it happens to be a bit more expensive than the next brand due to quality then that should be their choice. Same as the Team that chooses to shoot the cheaper brand.

Its all about freedom of choice.
