Lincoln Storm

When we were setting up our team, 3 months ago, we read about the P.A Cup Concept and felt that the logical way forward was to represent our area. So Lincoln Storm was born.

Our main backer is Lincoln Combat Zone - so it was decided that we would be Lincoln Storm, even though our players come from across the East Midlands Region. We have had newspaper articles and Radio Interviews - with alot of local interest in the team and even more in the sport and site , who is backing us - so it goes full circle.

The team was also formed from existing players who all shared the same goal of becoming a force in U.K paintball. We were not a group of mates from the pub who liked playing the game and thought it might be a laugh playing tournaments. Hence we already have a dedicated 12 man squad - with a view to setting up a seperate Young Gun Team.

The P.A Cup was our first event as a team - and it was absolutely spot on - in the way it presented our sport to the public.

Keep up the great work,

Rich

PA Cup - Totally Amazing!

A gauntlet has been thrown down, to change the whole way we think and organise the UK paintball industry and play the game.

This weekend at Witton Castle, we observed history in the making. A new way of playing, for your Town or city. A new field layout, white lettered, dead boxes, starting gates, all properly marked out.
Absolutely amazing play from all teams (well done manchester! Condolences Nottingham!) The Netted off areas etc etc.
I want to see this from a tournament. This is a sport, we now have a formula to go by, Next years PA Cup will be bigger better and well subscribed, get your deposits in for your team now! (there are more than 11 towns and cities in GT Britain!)

As has already been said, Well done to the Gillie, Hatts, The Yellow shirt Crew and all the Marshalls (Delta and the Manc Marshalls 241 Dave?), It was hot but you guys did an amazing job!
To everybody who didn't turn up...get yourselves down next year or be left in the cold, this is the way forward, we are now out of the woods (apart from scenarios!) lets tell the rest of the UK that we have a sport to be proud of
COME ON!!

Only came on the Sunday to play, and have to say it was THE most profesionaly organised tournament I have yet played in.

Fields were VERY spectator friendly, netting being the highest I have seen for a tourney.

Facilities were good, especially liked the checking of players coming into the staging area, and it being blocked off from the general public. Also the fact player passes were actually checked very frequently.

Only downside was that more teams did not turn up. But hopefully after hearing about this more teams will be inclined to play next year.

Both the quality of play and the sportsmanship displayed by all the teams as well was just the way paintball should be played.

Like others have said, this type of setup should be what all UK tournaments should aspire to be. Well done to Hatts and Gille for taking the time and effort it must have taken to set something like this up.

Congratulations to the Mancs as well for lifting the cup... :) and making the final such a joy to watch.

Look forward to the event being bigger and better next year (if that is at all possible)

Yello guys ...

The netting was a very high 6 metre's all round. It took us 4 days just to get the netting up the poles !!

Thanks to the marshalls, teams, spectators, trade stand, staff an espcially Gillie and Hatts for such a great tournament.

A special thankyou to the marshalls from me for letting me help out over the weekend. I really enjoyed it, the thing you learn first and upmost is BLIND SPOTS from shooters :D. Thanks to Manchester Marshalls, I really enjoyed the saturday and learn alot, as did I on the Sunday with Delta.

I really enjoyed the weekend, and it was worth setting up 8 days in advance !! ... the netting took 4 days, nevermind the holes for the poles, spaying fields in, setting out fields, etc :)

Thanks to everyone again, and all of the PA's supporters !

I think we're keeping the 2-4-1 story for the mag...I think an incident of such a serious nature requires a full explanation rather than bandying about through gossip in an internet forum...don't you?...you know how these things can be twisted and the named parties can be emotionally scarred for life...I know Dave was quite distressed about the whole thing :D

The PA committee will be talking to all those involved in the 2-4-1 incident and conferring with the Russ on the matter.

When a final ruling has been passed we'll print it...
