Quick update.

Things are coming together nicely. Just need to play around with the colour palettes some more; I have a habit of using quite bright colours and the amount of times I've used pink and removed it is starting to get ridiculous - so I need to make sure it all looks more sexy but without looking like a poster for a kids party :ROFLMAO:

Functionality on mobile has been the big one and although the forum currently works ok, there's a lot of new, clean and easy function points that when you get used to them are pretty awesome. I'm guessing one of the reason people struggle with forums is due to how crap theyr are on mobile. So we're fixing that.

I have a bunch of images/graphics to create to make the header area look more awesome without overpowering the content, but I think I'm almost there with that.

And then we'll tackle how we make ads work for everyone.

Even once it's launched there'll be some tweaking to do so please bear with us but if we can get most of it right out the box then we're laughing.

Just popped my head in here for the first time in a long time and was slightly sad to see how quiet the forum looked. Nice to hear the powers that be are still going at it and planning a refresh, look forward to it :)

Can anyone explain why PbNation is a ghost town these day?

I just went over there for the first time in years and there was only 24 members logged in - what?! That was one of the busiest forums ever back in the day. Have the social media alternatives also knocked that powerhouse to it's knees? Is the sport declining? Or has the traffic just moved elsewhere?

Hopefully, the new revamped p8ntballer will deliver more than just piecemeal drivel - our industry/membership deserve more than that.
I honestly think there’s a place for technical/tactical articles along with some adult commentary.
I’m not saying we need to discuss Quantum Mechanic’s ‘entanglement’ dilemma but I’m damned sure our sport has more to it than shallow commentary.
This forum, when complete, will cater for discussions/reviews/articles etc
It will hark back to the days of PGi and for those of you who aren’t aware what that is, don’t worry, it’s a good thing.

We’ve got a fantastic mix of old and new in our membership and I’m going to try and make sure we utilise that spread if only to educate the younger members and point them in the right directions.
The last thing I want to be doing is what I used to do before, and hopefully I can focus on doing what’s best for our membership.

This forum is here to teach not just the technical and tactical elements of our game but also give the newer members an idea of how paintball has developed over the years.

I also hope to give my friends/customers exactly what they want/need from a forum, and the same goes for all you guys out there.
It’s gonna be an interesting road ahead and so my fingers are crossed.
Have a good evening people.

Pete

Looks like the site has been updated to XF2?

Couldn't find an announcement on it, but looks nice!

I think the body font could do with being bumped up a tad from 1.3 to 1.4 REM or 14px, it's a bit small on my 25" 1440p monitor.

Any plans for other new plugins/features?

Hi Mr Hood, re plug ins?
If it enhances the site and people will find a use for it then we’ll install them.

This revamp is a ‘work in progress’ which pretty much means we’re gonna rely on you guys to tell us what works, what doesn’t and what’s needed.
P8ntballer is now a egalitarian enterprise with our members setting the direction.

I’ve got some great people wrapped round me and they’ll oversee any changes required.
I’m gonna concern myself with educating people on the finer points of our beloved sport.
It’s a win-win for everyone.

One thing I've noticed is that push notifications hasn't been turned on. It's a core feature that's free to use and could be enabled for all registered users.

You could also customise the reactions system and add a few new ones. I'm fond of ones such as 'Agree', 'Informative', 'Useful', 'Interesting', 'Also wondering about that' and 'Winner!'
